Sit a while and feed my curiosity

DA is a little different than most forums I that its more for sharing our art work but we share little about ourselves, I suppose it why its different to most places such as bulletin boards and myspace etc (thank god) Most of though can appear anonymous, we see the art but little behind those that create it.

Should any of us be lucky to get published we would have to write up a small biography outlining who and what we are.

I thought it would be nice if we could do it without the need to be published.


To feed your curiosity I'll start

I was born in 1961 (47 to save you the math) to an English Prodestant soldier and an Irish catholic mother, it was never going to work and they divorced when I was young, a few years later I was orphaned, I went from a middle class family in the late 60's to being brought up in local care, I went wild Up through my teenage years and until I was near 25 I was uncontrollable, then I got married for the 1st time, it didn't last either, I have though been with my wife now since 1991 (our anniversary on the 18th, I remembered ) I have three children, all boys, the oldest with my ex wife who is 21 this year down to my youngest who will turn 8 this year, he is my muse

I live in a small industrial town in the north west of the UK, apart from when I was young I have lived here near all my life, I work for a large multi complex company in the heavy chemicals division, doing shift work (4 days in 6 days off) gives me the time to do the thing I need to and the thing I want to.

I am a biker and I have to admit an addiction to speed, I have done over 180mph both riding and as a passenger (don't ask where as I'm not saying ) Its keeps me sane and is my pressure relief, if you suffer from stress I would recommend it.

I only got into photography at the start of last year, it helps with my impatience, I can draw and paint but get bored too easily, I love the ability to post edit something mundane into something I like and the speed in doing so helps. I fumble through and get inspiration from a lot of places, other artists and friends I have on here, my son and his way of looking at life, my ambition is to be able to do what I like for a living, work for myself, I want to be able to sell prints and get published but thats a long way off (hell to sell a print would be nice )

I consider myself the biggest kid in the house (my wife would agree) but my body has stopped believing me, I love getting out and exploring, seeing new places, when I retire we will sell the house, buy a splitty VW camper van and tow a trailer for my bike and we will spend what time we have left seeing exactly what is out there at our won pace
