It was one of those times when all the troubles you had seem to go away
My loan camera has now gone back and I'm relieved after all the luck I have had with them of late but I have a lot of images to work through to keep me busy for a while
I stumbled upon this photograph while listening to the Nightwish song "The Islander," and the lyrics matched up with the painting so perfectly.
I believe that I have derived the metaphorical meaning of the title quite well, and that shows clarity. Your abstract title was not too abstract, and not overly-abstract in the sense that I could derive a meaning from such a title.
The actual photograph itself is extremely technical, whilst still being emotional. The lighting of the sunset matches perfectly with the gloomy-low-tide of the ocean, and the boat marooned, tipped to one side. The hemp rope leading away from the ship into darkness is intriguing, and the marquee around the entire photograph adds a very dark-but-calming feel to the piece.
The only two pieces of "criticism" I have for you are that the text does not seem to go along very well with the actual photo, and the subject of focus- a marooned boat, is a bit too cliche for my tastes.
Needless to say, I love this work. You'll be on my deviantWatch from now on. <3
I'm sorry, but this is suspicious. Your EXIF data is obviously the same as on 100% of your photos so you are either plagiarizing yourself or you're on some hyper-mega-huge-brilliant scam to defraud us all of our cents. As the second proposition is obviously a reinforcement of the second, the duality is fake so what I really mean is it's a scam. Awful. Either way, Mr. Shaw, it's pretty pretty fucking awesome stunning photo. There are now 22 words left. I mean 18. No, 17. 15, 14 13 words left. Now it's just ten. And now 6. 3! Hurray!!!!!!!!!! Damn! Punctuation doesn't count.
incredible mike! i swear you can look at an image and know its unmistakably mike shaw... i'll never figure out how you manage to have a razor sharp image yet it be soft. haha...
great work. <3
