1st critique ever, so bear with me. The colors of the sky make a wonderful contrast to the brown at the bottom of the picture, it gives it a real defining line of earth and sky. I believe the bottom is water and breakers, so
The lighthouse shows man's attempt to do what little they can to avoid the wrath of the sea. The tilt of the lighthouse makes it seem as though it is bracing against the wind. The breakers show our power over earth and water. But above, there are only wind turbines which shows that we humans can only try and hold on to the sky as it flies by. Who knows if we will ever be able to "tame" the sky.
Overall, the contrast of colors is great as always, the cloud formations are wonderful, and I believe it is a great work.
First of all, congratulations for as good a job as always.
Let's go for some real work in here:
- I really like the land/sky proportion in this picture. It gives an impression of width, of freedom. An expanding feel. And of course, gives room to the actual topic in the piece, which is the clouds.
- The strict and static directions that the horizon and the lighthouse mark are the perfect frame for the clouds free play and their dynamic effect.
- This is reinforced by the fact that the lighthouse seems to be the origin point of the clouds movement, which is "radial" around it.
- The only critic I can think of is that the lighthouse not being 100% vertical disturbs a little, in my opinion, the vision. It's a so powerful element but it's inclination is not enough to be considered intended, so looks like a bit of an accident.
